Pay 80% less than the average OTC hearing aid
Averages are what U.S. buyers reported paying, not our former prices. Prescription hearing aids include professional fitting and suit every level of hearing loss. HEARVELA One is an OTC hearing aid for adults with perceived mild to moderate loss that you set up yourself.
Sound familiar?
You can hear that they're talking. You just can't make out the words.
Age-related hearing loss often fades the higher-pitched sounds first, and many consonants (s, f, th, k) live up there. So speech sounds mumbled rather than quiet, and turning the volume up just makes it loud. ¹
Restaurants, family dinners and group chats get harder first
Background noise covers the quiet parts of speech. Many people start skipping the outings they used to enjoy, or sit through them smiling and guessing.
Until 2022, the only answer was a clinic
Appointments, a prescription, and often several thousand dollars a pair. ³ Now the FDA's over-the-counter category lets adults with perceived mild to moderate hearing loss buy a hearing aid directly. ²

What's inside HEARVELA One
Why HEARVELA One costs less than a clinic hearing aid
Sold direct
No clinic or store markup
We sell online and ship from our warehouse to your door, so the price isn't carrying a clinic's rent and staff.
You fit it yourself
No fitting appointments in the price
OTC hearing aids are designed for you to set up and adjust at home with a printed guide. If you'd rather have a professional do it, a prescription aid is the better choice.
Built for mild to moderate
Made for the most common kind of hearing loss
It isn't designed for severe loss, which needs more power and professional programming. That focus keeps it simpler and the price lower.
Try it for 60 days
Hearing aids take a few weeks to get used to. If HEARVELA One isn't right for you, return it within 60 days of delivery for a refund. How returns work.
Plus a 12-month warranty: if it stops working because of a defect, we repair or replace it.

Questions
Do I need a hearing test?
Not to buy an OTC hearing aid. A professional hearing test can still help you understand your hearing, and you should see a doctor first if anything on the safety checklist applies.
Do I need a prescription?
No. OTC hearing aids can be bought by adults 18+ with perceived mild to moderate hearing loss without a prescription.
What if it doesn't work for me?
Give it a few weeks; most people need time to adjust. If it still isn't right, return it within 60 days of delivery. Returns policy.
Will people see it?
They sit inside the ear canal (CIC style), so very little shows from the outside.
How long does shipping take?
Free tracked shipping. Usually delivered in 8–14 business days.
Will it fall out?
Choosing the right ear-tip size is what keeps it secure. Try each size in the box. If none fits well, contact us before you return it.
Is there a warranty?
Yes, 12 months against defects in materials and workmanship.
What's in the box?
One pair of hearing aids (left and right), the charging case, ear tips in several sizes, a charging cable, a cleaning brush and the user guide.
Does insurance cover it? HSA or FSA?
Hearing aids are an eligible medical expense for HSA and FSA accounts (IRS Publication 502). Pay with your HSA/FSA card, or submit your receipt to your plan for reimbursement. Most health insurance plans don't cover OTC hearing aids; check with your plan administrator.
Is it a tinnitus treatment?
No. It isn't intended to treat tinnitus, and it isn't for severe or profound hearing loss.
How do I contact you?
Email support@hearvela.com, Mon to Fri, 9am to 5pm Pacific.
Who OTC hearing aids are (and aren't) for
OTC hearing aids are intended for adults 18 and older with perceived mild to moderate hearing loss. They are not intended for severe or profound hearing loss, and they are not for children.
See a doctor, preferably an ear specialist, before using a hearing aid if you have:
- A visible deformity of the ear, from birth or injury
- Fluid, pus or blood coming out of the ear in the past 6 months
- Pain or discomfort in the ear
- A history of excessive earwax, or you suspect something is in your ear canal
- Episodes of vertigo or severe dizziness
- Sudden, quickly worsening or fluctuating hearing loss in the past 6 months
- Hearing loss or ringing (tinnitus) in only one ear, or a noticeable difference between ears
Sudden hearing loss can be a medical emergency. If you notice it, contact a doctor right away. A hearing aid will not restore normal hearing or prevent hearing loss. Read the full OTC hearing aid information.
- National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), "Age-Related Hearing Loss (Presbycusis)".
- U.S. Food and Drug Administration, final rule establishing OTC hearing aids, 21 CFR 800.30 (effective October 17, 2022).
- President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, Aging America & Hearing Loss (2015): average about $2,400 per hearing aid. Prices vary by provider.
- HearingTracker, "How much do hearing aids cost?" (2025 survey of U.S. buyers): average $4,727 per pair at a traditional clinic paid without insurance, and $502 per pair for over-the-counter hearing aids.
